Translating Jordanian Birth Certificates for Australian Purposes
Jordanian birth certificates are issued by the Civil Status and Passports Department (DACS / دائرة الأحوال المدنية والجوازات). They are printed in Arabic on distinctive coloured paper (often pink or green for older formats) and include the child's full name, date and place of birth, parents' names, nationality and civil status number.
Jordanian birth certificates include national ID (hawiya) reference details and may also list Palestinian refugee registration numbers for Jordan-based Palestinian families. The DACS seal and registrar's signature appear on all documents. Jordan also issues family books (daftar al-a'ila) that serve as a family registry document.
