Translating Saudi Birth Certificates for Australian Purposes
Saudi birth certificates are issued by the General Directorate of Civil Status (الأحوال المدنية) under the Ministry of Interior. Saudi Arabia uses a Family Registry system (Sijl al-Usra) in which births are recorded as entries in the family record. Individual birth notifications (إشعار بالميلاد) are also issued.
Saudi birth documents include the child's full Arabic name, date of birth in both Hijri (Islamic) and Gregorian calendar formats, parents' names and national ID numbers. The Family Registry extract is often translated rather than an individual birth certificate. Modern Saudi documents are also issued digitally.
