Arabic words for a birth certificate

The standard term is شهادة ميلاد, written شهادة الميلاد with the article. Some countries also use شهادة ولادة (shahādat wilāda), from ولادة, "birth".

Some countries issue a civil registry extract as well as, or instead of, a certificate: in Lebanon an individual civil registry extract (إخراج قيد فردي, ikhrāj qayd fardī); in Egypt the computerised birth certificate (شهادة ميلاد مميكنة, shahādat mīlād mumaykana) printed by the civil registry.
